Drexel lacrosse player Nick Trizano saw the benefits first hand of the Drexel co-op program this summer. Trizano spent part of the summer working for a global logistics company in Shanghai.
Trizano, a junior from Eastchester, N.Y., had his co-op with the Helka Group, a company which specializes in international freight forwarding. While in China, Trizano made sure to experience some of the local culture with a trip to Beijing for a very fitting national holiday, the Dragon Festival. Along the way he visited the Great Wall of China and snapped a few photos while playing wall ball thousands of miles from home. “It was a really cool experience working in Shanghai and experiencing Chinese culture,” Trizano said. “It's something that not many people can say that they have done.”
Trizano scored 19 goals last season and is looking forward to an even better junior season. He picked up three goals in games against Penn State and Lafayette least year. He also had five assists and finished fifth on the team with 24 points. Drexel finished 8-6 a year ago and 3-3 in the CAA. The Dragons are expected to be ranked in the top 20 when the season opens in February. Drexel will have a challenging non-conference schedule once again with games at Vidas Field against national-champion Virginia and Notre Dame in the early going. The entire schedule should be released later this fall.
