Greenfield's Late Goal Lifts Drexel Past Delaware, 1-0

Philadelphia - Drexel's Sam Greenfield scored off a corner kick with 2:16 to play as Drexel once again pulled out a victory in the final minutes and beat Delaware, 1-0, at Vidas Field. The win gave Drexel a bye in the upcoming CAA Tournament. Drexel will now face the winner of UNCW and Delaware on Friday. Nov. 2.
Drexel's Courtey Wylie started the scoring play with a corner kick for the Dragons. Wylie sent the ball into the box, where Alyssa Findlay headed it over to Greenfield, who rocketed a shot past Delaware keeper Jessica Levy. It was the fifth goal of the year for Greenfield, and the fourth time she was credited with a game winner. Drexel has now won three straight matches, including two in a row with the game winning goal coming with less than three minutes to play.
Eve Badana made three saves for the Dragons. The sophomore picked up her 10th shutout of the season. Drexel ended the season with a school record 13 wins as the Dragons were 13-3-2 overall. They were 7-2-1 in conference play. The victory also gave the Dragons their second straight unbeaten season at home. Drexel is now 11-0-4 in its last 15 matches at Vidas Field.
Drexel and Delaware each had 10 shots in the match and each goalkeeper had three saves. The Dragons will now head to Williamsburg, Va. for the CAA Championships. William & Mary will host the event as the top seed. The Tribe will face the winner of Northeastern and Hofstra.
