The Drexel women's soccer team evened its record at 1-1 with a 1-0 shutout against Liberty on Sunday afternoon in Lexington, Va. Melissa Chapman accounted for the only goal and Eve Badana picked up the shutout as Drexel split its season-opening trip to southern Virginia.

For the second straight game the Dragons found themselves in a defensive battle. Chapman put the Dragons on the board in the 29^th minute of the game. The Dragons had a corner kick, which found its way to freshman Gabby Dixon, who set up Chapman for the team's first goal of the season. It was the second career goal for the sophomore and proved to be the game-winner.

Liberty outshot Drexel, 9-6, but couldn't get a ball past Badana. The sophomore made five saves en route to her fourth career shutout. Karen Blocker was not credited with a save for the Flames. There were 30 fouls committed in the game, 17 of them called against Liberty.

Drexel concludes its three-game road swing to start the season on Friday afternoon at Villanova. The Dragons finally open their home schedule on Monday, Aug. 27 against UMBC.
