Swimming Competes at Cavalier Invite

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va - Day one of the Cavalier Invite proved to be a success for the Dragons, as each swimmer posted best times in their events.
In Friday morning's preliminary competition, teammates Stephen Brown, Ryan DeMott, and James Premo each saw best times. DeMott and Premo swam in the 500 free, Premo continued to the 100 free, and DeMott and Brown finished up with the 200 fly.
Friday night saw the Dragon's best swimming, as each swimmer topped their personal bests yet again. DeMott and Premo touched the wall in the 500 free in 4:49.36 and 4:55.36, respectively. Premo then returned in the 100 free, stopping the clock at 50.19. Brown then swam an impressive 200 fly, finishing under the two minute mark at 1:59.12, followed by teammate DeMott at 2:02.64.
The Dragons continued their streak of record breaking swims, as Saturday's competition saw nine out of nine best swims. DeMott drop three seconds off his best 500 free, four seconds off his best 200 free, and three seconds off his best 200 fly. Teammate Brown brough nothing short of impressive times as he also dropped 5 seconds off his 200 fly, 0.6 seconds off his 100 fly, and 0.8 seconds off his 50 free. Third teammate, Premo managed to drop four seconds in the 500 free, three seconds in the 200 free, and broke his best 100 free time.
Next, the Dragons are set to compete in the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, being held at George Mason.
