PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to the La Salle explorers in the season opener. The men fell to the Explorers 184 to 116 and the women fell 180 to 119.
"Tonight was a good learning experience for team in how to swim fast while still training hard", coach Adam Braun said afterwards. He continued, "Some close races didn't go our way today but I thought we showed great character by competing every race until the meet was over. We have to shift our focus on to our quad-meet on Saturday and raise to the challenge of swimming fast on back to back days away from home."
Aubrey Murray notched a victory for the woman in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.18. The winning margin was 1.7 seconds ahead of Sarah Finn of La Salle.
