Smithfield, R.I. - Bryant scored seven second half goals and held Drexel's offense to just one second-half goal on its way to a 12-6 win over the 17th-ranked Dragons (3-3). Ben McIntosh scored three goals in defeat.
Drexel trailed early by three goals before getting on the board with 4:18 to play in the first period. McIntosh set up Nick Trizano on the man-up to make it 3-1. In the second period, Drexel trimmed it to a one-goal lead on another man-up goal, this one by McIntosh. It was set up by Cole Shafer. Bryant answered with a Tucker James goal on the man-up a few minutes later to make it 4-2. Trizano and McIntosh scored less than 1:30 apart midway through the quarter to even the score at 4-4. Bryant got another man-up goal, this one by Shane Morrell, but the lead didn't last long as with just over two minutes to play until half, Jared Boudreau tied the score.
In the second half, Dan Sipperly gave Bryant the lead at the 10:55 mark. Drexel again answered this time with 7:04 left in the third when McIntosh netted his third of the game. However, that would be the last goal of the game for the Dragons, who were held to a season-low six goals. The Bulldogs would close the quarter with goals from Collins Gantz, Bo Redpath, Alex Zomerfeld and Brett Baker in the final 6:18 of the frame for a 10-6 lead entering the final 15 minutes. Bryant would add two more in the final quarter to make it a six-goal decision.
Gunnar Walt came up big for Bryant, making a season-high 17 saves. Will Gabrielsen made 13 for Drexel. The Dragons were outshot, 40-38. McIntosh had four points for the Dragons, while Trizano finished with two goals and three points.
