ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Colin McGlynn scored his first collegiate goal early in the second half, but the Drexel men's soccer team saw Cal State Bakersfield net an equalizer later in the period and win in the first overtime as the Dragons fell, 2-1, at the TLC Plumbing and Utility Invitational at the University of New Mexico. The Dragons drop to 2-3-2 with the loss.

McGlynn, who was making just his second career appearance, tallied his first collegiate goal in the 48th minute when he finished a play set up by Aaron Thompson. Thompson gained control in the box and chipped it further in to McGlynn, who slid and redirected it to the back post and in. The lead was the first for Drexel since a 1-0 victory over Villanova on September 3.

It would not last long, however, as CSU Bakersfield answered in the 65th minute with a rocket off the toe of Jamie Carey-Morrell. His shot from 20 yards out evened the score, and would eventually send the game to overtime after the teams went without a goal in the final 25 minutes of regulation.

Just under four minutes into the extra time, Bakersfield was able to celebrate with a goal scored by Christian Duarte. His low laser beat Drexel keeper Tyler Afflerbach to his left. Afflerbach finished with four saves, while Bakersfield keeper Nicholas Clever was only tested the once, with McGlynn beating him early in the second half. Bakersfield outshot the Dragons 20-6 on the afternoon.

After the tournament's conclusion, seniors Guido Pena and Michele Pataia were named to the TLC Plumbing and Utility Invitational All-Tournament Team. Pena scored the Dragons' goal in their 1-1 draw with No. 4 New Mexico, and Pataia assisted on that score.
