Men’s Swimming and Diving Reaches Conclusion in Quad Meet at George Mason

FAIRFAX, Va. – On Saturday afternoon, the Drexel men's swimming and diving team concluded its quad meet at George Mason University. The Dragons fell to both the host George Mason, 207-144, and CAA foe Towson, 220-131.
Saturday
Senior diver David Sanchez won the 3m dive on Saturday with a total score of 268.45, finishing with first place in both diving events after winning the 1m on Friday night.
Senior Kyle Lukens earned a first-place victory in the 100 fly, touching the wall at 49.92. He finished third in the 200 fly with a final time of 1:53.08.
Junior Joel Berryman, freshman Ralph Cannarozzi III, Lukens and freshman Liam Kelly won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:33.60, beating out a Towson squad by one-tenth of a second.
Berryman placed second in the 100 back with a time of 50.81, less than half a second off the first-place time. He also came in third in the 100 free at 46.41.
The 400 free relay squad of junior Sean Swartz, senior Matthew Klotz, junior Ivo Pejovic and freshman Luke Hanner came in third with a time of 3:11.83.
Friday
Sanchez and sophomore Simon Carne finished first and second in the men's 1m dive with final scores of 262.70 and 239.55.
In the 200 freestyle relay, Berryman, Swartz, Kelly and Lukens finished second behind a foursome from George Mason. Drexel finished with a time of 1:25.85, which was 16-hundreths of a second behind GMU.
Lukens also finished third in the 200 IM as he touched the wall at 1:56.44.
