Women’s Swimming and Diving Earns Victory Over Binghamton, 155-86

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Drexel women's swimming and diving team completed a dual meet at Binghamton on Saturday, resulting in a 155-86 victory in favor of the Dragons over the Bearcats.
"I'm really happy with how the team performed today," said head coach Adam Braun. "We have had a tough week of training and it is always harder to swim on the road. Everyone had a great mindset and attitude today and it showed in their swims. Our focus now shifts to the Patriot Invite in two weeks."
Junior Claudia Duguay won the 50 free with her best time on the season, touching the wall at 24.69.
Freshman April Forsthoffer came from behind to win the 400 IM with a final time of 4:38.95.
Sophomore Miranda Rouse swam the three longest events for the Dragons. She won the 500 and 1000 freestyles with times of 5:12.76 and 10:40.91, respectively. Rouse also finished second in the 400 IM at 4:39.19, coming from behind in the last 50 to clinch second behind Forsthoffer.
Freshman Rebecca Churchill earned her first collegiate victory in the 100 breast on Saturday with a final time of 1:09.84, edging out a Bearcat by six-hundredths of a second.
Drexel diving also produced strong performances, sweeping the top three spots in each board. Senior Madison Kramer won the 1m with a score of 261.83. Jaclyn Goulet and Hailey Ihlow finished second and third.
Kramer also won the 3m with a total of 264.68 followed by second and third finishes by Jaclyn Goulet and Rory McPhillips.
The Dragons' swimming and diving teams are next in action at the Patriot Invitational, hosted by George Mason in Fairfax, Va. from Thursday, Nov. 19 through Saturday, Nov. 21.
