Dragons Head West to Play at Chambers Bay

The Drexel golf team will have the unique opportunity to play golf on the West Coast starting on Sunday. Head Coach Mike Dynda and his Dragons fly to Seattle where they will play at the second annual Redhawk Invitational. The 18-team tournament will take place at Chambers Bay, the home of the 2015 United States Open Championship.
The Dragons will be one of 18 teams playing at this pristine couse in the Pacific Northwest town of University Place, Wash. Seattle University is the host of the tournament. The rest of the field ncludes three teams that competed in it last year: the University of Washington, Boise State and Seton Hall. There will be 13 new teams in addition to the Dragons. Three of the schools are from Power Five conferences. Utah is from the Pac-12, Rutgers if from the Big Ten and TCU represents the Big 12. The other schools in the tournament are Utah Valley, Missouri-Kansas City, British Columbia, Cal State Fullerton, Fairleigh Dickinson, George Washington, Incarnate Word, North Dakota State, South Dakota State and William and Mary.
The tournament will begin with a practice round Sunday, April 5. The teams will play the first two rounds on Monday and the third and final round Tuesday. The Redhawk Invitational takes place just two months before the U.S. Open comes to Chambers Bay.
