NEWARK, Del. - The Drexel men's and women's swimming and diving teams returned to action on Saturday for the first team meet of the new year. The men earned a 166-134 victory over Delaware while the women fell to both Delaware, 232-68, and Northeastern, 196-104.
"Both the women and men have put in great work over the last month and it was good to see them get up and race this afternoon," said Drexel head coach Adam Braun. "I'm really proud of the way the men responded to what was a back and forth meet. I'm looking forward to what we can accomplish the rest of the season."
Freshman Joseph Brown turned in a time of 9:48.80 in the 1000 free that was a season best by 17 seconds as he finished second in the event behind a swimmer from Delaware.
Fellow freshman Ralph Cannarozzi III and senior Brian Woo teamed up to finish first and second in the 100 breast with respective times of 59.25 and 59.46.
