POWELLS POINT, N.C. -- The Drexel golf team completed play today with a 16th place finish at the 2016 Outer Banks Intercollegiate tournament. The Dragons shot 306 in the final round of the 54-hole tournament which took place at Kilmarlic Golf Course in Powells Point, N.C.
In the final round, Drexel played better than it did on Monday. Freshman Connor Schmidt finished the three-day event with a 229. He was one shot better than Brendan Bacskai who shot 230. Aaron Fricke bounced back and closed the tournament with a 74 to lead the Dragons. He finished with a 231, which tied him with teammate Adam Mistretta. The Dragons will look to rebound and close the fall on a high note on November 5. Drexel will play in the City 6 Inviational at Huntingdon Valley.
