Philadelphia - The Drexel golf team closed the 2016 fall season with a third place finish at the City 6 Invitational. The one-day tournament took place at Huntingdon Valley Country Club.

Drexel shot 297 in the six-team event on the par-70 course. Freshman Connor Schmidt had the best round of the day for the Dragons with a two-over-par 72. Yoseph Dance was just one stroke behind Schmidt with a 73. Adam Mistretta and Brendan Bacskai each finished with a 76. Despite a young team, the Dragons had a solid fall. Head Coach Ben Feld's team tied for the top spot in two tournaments, winning one tiebreaker and dropping the other. The squad got solid contributions from a number of players over the past two months.

Temple won the team playoff against Villanova to take the title. Both teams finished just two strokes ahead of the Dragons. Penn's Amay Poria was the medalist and the only player to shoot par on the 6,876 yard course.
