No. 10 Women’s Squash Handles No. 15 Middlebury, Set for No. 11 Brown Saturday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 10 Drexel women's squash team (10-6) defeated No. 15 Middlebury a quarterfinals affair on Friday evening in the B Division Kurtz Cup with a 7-2 victory. The Dragons move onto to the Kurtz Cup semifinals tomorrow with a matchup against No. 11 Brown on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. on the campus of Yale University.
The Dragons won the top five positions on Friday as well as the bottom two to earned the win over Middlebury.
Sophomore Hayley Hughes grabbed a sweep from the No. 1 spot over Saskia Pownall-Gray, 11-6, 11-4, 11-6.
Ryan Morgan played from the No. 2 position and defeated Tiffany Hau, 11-9, 11-5, 11-4.
Mary Fung-A-Fat also swept Middlebury's Beatrijs Kuijpers from the No. 3 spot, 11-7, 15-13, 11-8, as did Fiona Power from the No. 4 position in a 11-2, 12-10, 11-9 decision against Zoe Carey.
After dropping the first game, Elisa Money came back to beat Alexa Comai, 4-11, 11-3, 11-7, 11-7, from the No. 5.
Apoorva Addepalli and Kathryn Bottger both snagged sweeps from the No. 8 and 9 positions, respectively.
The matchups with No. 11 Brown was set after the Bears defeated No. 14 Franklin & Marshall, 7-2, this evening. The Dragons and Bears will square off tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m.
