Field Hockey Well Represented for U.S. Women’s Master Team in IMHA Indoor World Cup

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Drexel head coach Denise Zelenak and associate head coach Nicky Hitchens are set to play for the U.S. O-40 Women's Masters Team in the Inaugural International Masters Hockey Association (IMHA) Masters Indoor World Cup on February 2-5 in Krefeld, Germany. Assistant coach Danica Deckard and recent alums Lauren Hibshman and Jenna Knouse will be making the trip on the coaching staff.
This will be the third Masters World Cup for both Zelenak and Hitchens after participating in The Netherlands in 2014 and Australia in 2016.
Hibshman and Knouse, who played back for the Dragons from 2012-15, are joining the team's coaching staff. Hibshman will be the coach while Knouse will serve as the manager. Deckard, who has been an assistant coach for Drexel since the 2015 season, will assist as the Head of Video Analysis.
There are two pools of teams for the Women's O-40 World Cup. Pool A consists of Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland while Pool B will be England, Germany, USA and the Germany Eagles.
The United States will play each team in Pool B beginning with England on Thursday, February 2, Germany-Eagles on Friday, February 3 and Germany on Saturday, February 4. Based on the outcome of those three games, the squads from Pool B will each play an opponent from Pool A on Saturday to decide the 1st/2nd place, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th place matchups on Sunday, February 5.
