
No. 5 Men’s Squash Handles No. 9 Dartmouth in Sunday Homecoming Win, 6-3

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 5 Drexel men's squash team (10-4) earned its 10th win of the season with a Sunday afternoon victory over the No. 9 Dartmouth Big Green (4-5) from the Kline & Specter Squash Center on Drexel's Homecoming Weekend, 6-3.
In the first half of matches to come in, Drexel held a 3-1 lead over the Big Green. Sophomore Bransten Ming won his No. 2 position match after trailing after three, 11-8, 9-11, 10-12, 13-11, 11-3. Senior Michael Thompson turned in his 11th win of the season over Dartmouth's Sam Epley, 12-10, 11-5, 7-11, 11-8. Junior Luke Willemse won his 10th straight for a team-best 12 wins on the year over Nick Harrington of the Big Green in straight games from the No. 6 spot, 11-3, 11-8, 11-8.
A win by Dartmouth made the match 3-2 in favor of Drexel before Mostafa Aboul Makarim extended the lead with a No. 9 position win over Dartmouth's Brian Giegerich, 5-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-6.
Another Dartmouth win from No. 7 spot got the Big Green back within one as Drexel led 4-3. But freshman Lucas Rousselet sealed the victory for the Dragons from the No. 3 with a victory over Brandon De Otaduy.
With no matches scheduled for the first week of February, the Dragons will look towards facing George Washington in Washington, D.C. on Friday, Feb. 10 before playing their final home match of the year on Senior Day against Dickinson on Sunday, Feb. 12 at the Kline & Specter Squash Center.
