Jason Arthur of Men’s Swimming and Diving Breaks Two Pool Records in Win Over Delaware

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's swimming and diving team closed out its home meet against the Delaware Blue Hens on Saturday afternoon from the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Dragons emerged on top, defeating the Blue Hens, 203-96.
The Drexel men finished with 11 first-place victories.
Jason Arthur broke two pool records on the day. The Teaneck, New Jersey native first set a new Drexel Pool benchmark in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:49.38 before breaking the 200-yard individual medley mark near the end of the meet at 1:50.80. Arthur added another individual win in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 50.45.
Ivo Pejovic added wins in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyles with times of 21.37 and 46.65.
Luke Hanner and Patrick Cobb also grabbed freestyle victories in the 200-yard and 500-yard at 1:42.83 and 4:36.52.
Spencer Hill placed first in the 100-yard butterfly behind a time of 51.83.
The grouping of Arthur, Ralph Cannarozzi III, Stathis Malamas and Pejovic tabbed a first-place win in the 200-yard medley relay at 1:33.40.
Drexel diving swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards led by Simon Carne on the 1-meter (274.05) and Michael Binkauskas on the 3-meter (238.85).
The Dragons return to action next Sunday, January 15 in Newark, N.J. against NJIT and Howard.
