Dragons Tie For Second at Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Invite

Hellerton, Pa. - The Drexel golf team found day two to its liking at the Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Invitational held at Silver Creek Country Club. The Dragons fired a 289, the second-best score of the day, and tied for second overall at the tournament.
Aaron Fricke continued to play well. After firing a 74 in the opening round, he did one better on Monday with a 73. His 147 tied him for fifth overall on the par-72 course. Yoseph Dance bounced back in a big way for the Dragons. The senior tied for the best round of the day by any player with a two-under-par 70. He finished 11th overall at 149. Connor Schmidt also played much better in his second 18 holes of the tournament. The freshman carded a one-under-par 71 and was one stroke behind Dance and one stroke better than Michael Cook, who completed the two rounds at 151.
Drexel entered the final 18 holes in eighth place overall. The Dragons were 12 shots out of the lead and five strokes away from the top five before their impressive round today. UConn shot a 287, but the rest of the field was at least nine shots behind Drexel in round two. The Huskies were the overall winners at 582. The Dragons tied with Bryant at 596, nine shots ahead of fourth-place Villanova.
