PRINCETON, N.J. – Drexel women's soccer ended its 2019 season with a 1-0 loss at Princeton on Wednesday evening. The Tigers (6-6-3) scored in less than five minutes then worked to keep the Dragons (5-11-3) off the board.
Drexel started the action with a corner kick just 55 seconds into the match, but the set piece failed to produce a shot attempt.
Princeton scored the lone goal of the night on its first on-target shot. Kamryn Loustau got the upper hand in her one-on-one battle with Libby Baeza with four minutes and 43 seconds on the clock. Tomi Kennedy provided the assist.
Morgan Rees tested Grace Barbara with the Dragons' only shot attempt of the first half, but the Tiger goalkeeper stood tall in the 33rd minute.
Drexel started the second half in a similar fashion, earning a corner kick after only 59 seconds, but once again the Dragons could not get off a shot attempt. Chasing an equalizer, Drexel fired off six shots in the second half, forcing three saves from substitute goalkeeper Kelli Calhoun.
Baeza made a trio of stops in the second half to keep the deficit at 1-0. In the final game of her career, the senior from Irvine, Calif. made six saves. A two-year starter, Baeza closed her account with 162 stops – the ninth-most in program history.
Seven different players accounted for all seven of Drexel's shot attempts on Wednesday. Isabel Kuzy, Rees, Kailey Horton and Abby Corrato all put their shots on frame.
