Men's Tennis Comes Back to Edge Hofstra, 4-3

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Needing wins in each of the final three singles matches on the court, the Drexel men's tennis team got just what it needed on Saturday afternoon as the Dragons pulled out a 4-3 victory at Hofstra. Drexel got wins at each of the bottom three spots on the singles ladder, as well as a win at No. 2, to capture the victory.
Gustav Wogen had the clinching match at No. 6, finishing off a 6-3, 6-4 win to finish the comeback. The Dragons dropped the doubles point, then found themselves in a 3-1 hole after the first three singles matches. Youssef Lahlou got the only early point for Drexel, winning 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2.
Alvaro Cruz Chamorro pulled out a 7-6, 7-3 win at No. 4 to make it a 3-2 match, then Xandy Hammitt won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 to set up Wogen's dramatics.
The Dragons will be back on the court next Saturday, April 13, when they host James Madison at 11 a.m.
