Drexel Receives Bid to Host 2023 and 2024 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel University has been named as the host of the 2023 and 2024 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships at Lincoln Financial Field. The Championships will mark the fifth and sixth times that Drexel will host the event. Drexel was scheduled to host the 2020 Men's Lacrosse Championships before the pandemic canceled the event held over Memorial Day Weekend.

In addition, Drexel was selected to co-host the 2025 NCAA Wrestling Championships at the Wells Fargo Center.

"Drexel Athletics is excited to once again host the 2023 and 2024 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships at Lincoln Financial Field," Drexel Director of Athletics, and PHL Sports Vice Chair, Dr. Eric Zillmer said. "Lacrosse fans everywhere will be pleased to hear that once again Philadelphia will be the lacrosse epicenter on Memorial Day. Our professional staff at Drexel, which has previously hosted four NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships, takes pride in working with the Philadelphia Eagles and PHL Sports to stage a first-class championship at one of the premier facilities in the nation."

The NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships feature three days of action at Lincoln Financial Field. Opening day will host the Division I semifinals. On Sunday afternoon, the champions for both Division II and III will be crowned. The Division I title game will be held on Memorial Day afternoon.

Drexel previously hosted the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships at Lincoln Financial Field in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2019. The winners of those championships were Duke University, Denver, North Carolina and the University of Virginia. Drexel also hosted the 2012 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Quarterfinals at what is now Subaru Park in Chester, Pa., the home of the Philadelphia Union.
