PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's soccer team gave the No. 25/12 Hofstra Pride all it could handle, but could not match a pair of first half goals as the Dragons were upended 2-0 on Thursday night.
Drexel got the early jump in the match and fired a couple shots on goal against the Pride quickly in the first half. Hofstra rebounded and scored at the top of the 15th minute and again in the 32nd minute to go up 2-0. The Dragons continued to battle, matching the shot total for the Pride in the opening 45 minutes.
Neither team found the back of the net in a physical second half as the scoreline held up.
Drexel next travels to Towson on Sunday, October 24. Opening tap is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
