Godin Notches First Goal; Tigers Slip Past Dragons

TOWSON, Md. – The Drexel women's soccer team leveled its game against the Towson Tigers midway through the second half, but a goal with less than 20 minutes remaining allowed the Tigers to upend the Dragons 2-1 on Sunday afternoon
Trailing 1-0 in the 62nd minute, Drexel won a free kick. The ball was sent into the box where a handball was ruled against the Tigers. Gwyn Godin stepped to the mark and sent the ball past the keeper into the back of the net, tying the score at 1-1. The Dragons are now 2-for-2 on PK opportunities this season as Godin joined Annalena O'Reilly who converted a penalty against Seton Hall.
Towson rallied, scoring off a free kick in the 71st minute. DU had late chances, including three corners in the final seven minutes, but were unable to find the final equalizer.
Drexel returns to the pitch on Thursday, October 28 when it travels to Boston to take on Northeastern. Opening tap is slated for 6:00 p.m.
