Dragons Drop 5-1 Road Loss to Delaware

NEWARK, Del. – The Drexel women's field hockey team dropped a tough conference matchup with the University of Delaware on Friday afternoon. With the loss, the Dragons move to 4-5 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
Drexel fought until the very end but came up short against the Blue Hens commanding offense. Delaware got off to an early start, taking a 3-0 lead into the final 15 minutes after netting two goals off the rebound and the third off a penalty corner opportunity.
Chandler McFeeley halted the Blue Hens offense with a score of her own in the first minute of the fourth quarter. The senior forward stormed the opposing offensive circle with help from Eline Di Leva and sank a goal from five yards out. The Blue Hens offense caught fire once more, sinking two more goals before the buzzer to secure a 5-1 win.
In 60 minutes in net, Megan Hadfield recorded seven saves in 12 shots faced.
The Dragons are back on the road this Sunday, Apr. 18 for their final regular season matchup of the year against Towson at 1 p.m.
