Radionov Named CAA Men's Tennis Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Senior Matvey Radionov of the Drexel men's tennis team was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday afternoon. The news was announced by the CAA office.
Radionov kickstarted his senior spring campaign in winning fashion. The Tel Aviv, Israel native jumped out to a 2-0 start after winning the dual-clinching matches in each of Drexel's duals to start the season. Playing in the fourth-seeded spot, Radionov defeated his Buffalo opponent, 7-6 (5), 3-6, 7-6 (3), to clinch the program's first victory in its history against Buffalo. Against Brown a week later, Radionov defeated his opponent in the fifth slot to clinch once more for Drexel. Radionov also paired up with Sanil Jagtiani against Brown and won the crucial doubles point with a 7-5 win in the No. 3 position.
Drexel will be back in action on Feb. 5 when it hosts NJIT in the Drexel Tennis Bubble at noon. Please note there will be no visitors permitted inside the Drexel Tennis Bubble for home matches.
