PHILADELPHIA – Natali Foster and Eline Di Leva scored as Drexel shutout CAA rival, Hofstra, in a convincing 2-0 victory on Friday afternoon at Buckley Field. DU completed its third shutout on the year and is 10-5 with a 3-1 record against CAA opponents this season.

BY THE NUMBERS

Drexel has clinched a berth to the CAA tournament!
The Dragons are 25-17-1 all-time against the Pride.
DU's ten wins are the program's highest since the 2014 season.
Drexel's defense held Hofstra to four shots in the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the sixth minute, Isabel Jacobs sent a ball up field to Di Leva on the right side. She found the back of the cage past a diving Hofstra goalie to give DU an early 1-0 lead.
In the fourth quarter, Avery Powell and Taylor Mason's shots off the penalty corner were saved by the Hofstra goalie, but Foster stood at the goal line and scored off a deflection to add to Drexel's lead.
The Dragons defense kept the Pride off the board with help from Mason on a defensive save late in the contest.

Drexel continues its homestand at Buckley Field on Sunday against Northeastern at Noon. The contest will be dedicated to Play 4 The Cure and it will also be alumni day.
