Men's Basketball Downs Queens, 62-52

PHILADELPHIA - Drexel opened the second half with a 13-2 run and defeated Queens (N.C.) in the final game of the Market Street Challenge at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. Garfield Turner came off the bench to score 13 points as the Dragons improved to 3-2 in their final game before the Thanksgiving holiday.
Drexel turned it on over the final 20 minutes, mainly on the defensive end. The Dragons held the Royals (2-3) without a field goal for a stretch of just under 10 minutes as they took the lead and extended it to double digits. Drexel held Queens to just 26 percent int the second half. On the other end, the Dragons shot 56 percent from the floor over the last 20 minutes and led comfortably down the stretch as they picked up their second straight win.
Turner played well off the bench for the second straight game. He scored a career-high 13 points and was 6-for-7 from the floor. In the two games this weekend, Turner was 9-for-10 shooting. Justin Moore scored 12 points and had three steals for DU, while Lamar Oden, Jr. narrowly missed a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. Kobe MaGee had a solid game off the bench with seven points and a pair of blocked shots.
Queens came out strong to start the game and led for the majority of the first half. The Royals made four of their nine 3-point attempts and grabbed nine offensive rebounds in the half. The Dragons trailed by five at the break as they struggled from long range. Drexel missed all 10 of its shots from behind the arc and was just 4-for-7 from the line. Queens left Philadelphia with a split as the Royals defeated Fairfield on Saturday evening. A.J. McKee and Deyton Albury each scored 13 points to lead the team, while B.J. McLauren added 11 points.
Drexel will be off until next Sunday when the Dragons head to Norfolk, Va. to take on former CAA-foe Old Dominion.
