Blumenthal Named CAA Defensive Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Drexel goalkeeper Ross Blumenthal has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week. The fifth-year senior led the Dragons to a victory against Towson in their conference opener on Saturday.
Blumenthal recorded his fourth straight game with double-digit saves to help Drexel to a 12-11 overtime victory over Towson. The Baltimore, Md. native tallied 15 saves and posted a .577 save percentage. Blumenthal added three ground balls in the effort, picking up his third winning decision in the past four games. His save percentage on the season improved to .517.
The Dragons return to the field on Saturday morning when they host Hampton in a CAA game at Vidas Field. Face-off is set for 1 p.m.
