PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Three goals by the Dragons in the second half lifted the team to a 3-1 triumph over Rider on Friday evening at Buckley Field. Val Van Hellemont, Natali Foster, and Pien Elsen led the Dragons' offense with one goal a piece. Drexel has won three consecutive contests against non-conference opponents. DU defeated Rider for the third straight time to extend its record to 9-1 against the Broncs.

BY THE NUMBERS

Drexel held Rider's offense to three shots on goal and one penalty corner.
Megan Hadfield improved her save percentage to .800.
DU recorded twelve corners in the game.
Van Hellemont has scored in the last three of four games for the Dragons.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Following strong defensive efforts by both teams, the first half ended in a scoreless tie.
Rider found the first goal of the game in the 39th minute.
Seconds later, Van Hellemont buried a shot on the footstep of the goal which tied the contest at one.
Foster collected her fifth goal of the season on an assist from Van Hellemont to give Drexel a 2-1 advantage heading into the final frame.
The Dragons earned a penalty corner with under ten minutes remaining. Pien Elsen fired the ball from the center of the circle for DU's third tally of the contest. Assists were awarded to Eline Di Leva and Stephanie Oleykowski.
The Broncs were given an opportunity on a penalty corner with ten seconds left. Hadfield stopped the shot to close out the game.
