PHILADELPHIA – Drexel Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Steve Boyle announced the co-captains for this season's team. Liam Kammar, Drew McGill, Matt Martin and Conor Hooley, will serve in that role for 2025 season, which begins on February 15.
Kammar is entering his second season as one of the team's captains. He was one of the top short stick defenders in the CAA last season. The senior has appeared in every game over the last two seasons and finished ninth in the CAA with 3.13 ground balls per game.
Martin has been a member of Drexel's midfield unit for the last three seasons. The fifth-year senior midfielder from Centerville, Va., is one of the hardest workers on the team and a vocal leader.
McGill had a stellar year in the cage for the Dragons in 2024. He compiled a .520 save percentage, which was fifth in the CAA, and had 10 or more saves 11 times. McGill, who is from Alabama, was twice named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week.
Hooley, just a junior, was one of the team's top offensive players last season. The Minnesota native led the team with 17 assists and was eighth in the CAA with 1.13 assists per game. He tied for the team lead with 32 points and added 15 goals.
"I'm excited and honored to announce Liam Kammar, Drew McGill, Matt Martin, and Conor Hooley as this year's team captains," said Boyle. "Our team did a great job selecting these four. They are tremendous people, great leaders, and four of our hardest workers we have. I'm proud that Liam, Drew, Matt, and Conor will be the men at the forefront representing our team and program."
