Dragons Defeat NJIT, 4-3

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's tennis team defeated the NJIT Highlanders, 4-3, on Friday at the Vidas Courts.
Drexel earned the doubles point after Alan Jesudason and Alex De Sousa defeated their opponents in the No. 1 spot, 6-4 and Will Burridge and Hussein El Tawil took down their No. 3 match, 7-6.
In singles play, NJIT opened up with a pair of wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 matches. Down 2-1, Alex De Sousa closed out the victory in No. 2 match, 6-3, 7-5. Drexel pushed the match to 3-2 after Will Burridge completed his No. 4 match, 7-6 (6), 6-1. NJIT took the No. 5 match to even the score at three. Josue Guzman played hero of the match in the No. 6 match and clinched the win for Drexel, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (6).
Drexel returns to action on Friday, February 23. The Dragons travel to Queens, N.Y., to face St. John's at 1 p.m.
