Dragons Upended at St. John's, 4-2

QUEENS, N.Y. – The Drexel men's tennis team was defeated by the St. John's Red Storm, 4-2, on Friday afternoon. SJU entered the match on Friday afternoon ranked the No. 52 team in NCAA Division I according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The Dragons were quick to capture the doubles point to begin the match. After losing the No. 2 match, 6-3, Drexel bounced back in the No. 1 and No. 3 matches to clinch the first point. Alan Jesudason and Alex De Sousa paired in the top-seeded match and defeated their opponents 6-3. In the No. 3 spot, Will Burridge and Hussein El Tawil earned a 7-5 victory.
In singles play, the Red Storm captured three straight points in the sixth, fifth and second-seeded match. With the match on the line, Leonardo Mileikowski defeated El Tawil to clinch the match for SJU.
Jesudason, however, won his top-seeded match, 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 to put Drexel's match total at two.
Drexel returns to Vidas Courts on Sunday, February 25 to face the Norfolk State Spartans. First serve is at 11 a.m.
