PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's tennis team blanked the Siena Saints, 4-0 on Friday afternoon at the Vidas Courts.
The Dragons were quick to capture the doubles point after sweeping all three matches. Josue Guzman and Egor Kirakosov downed their opponents in the No. 3 match, 6-1. The top-seeded duo of Alan Jesudason and Alex De Sousa clinched the doubles point after defeating Fabio Varella and Oscar Martinez, 6-2. Lastly, Pierre Humayou and Hussein El Tawil won the second-seeded match, 6-3.
In singles play, Jesudason used two quick sets to defeat Zino Varouhas-Poole, 6-2, 6-1. De Sousa completed his match at No. 3 in two sets, 7-6 (3), 6-2. El Tawil clinched the match for Drexel after bouncing back from dropping the first set at the No. 2 spot, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Drexel returns to the Vidas Courts on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Dragons host the Lehigh Mountain Hawks.
