RICHMOND, Va. – Allison Hoppe of the Drexel softball team has been named the Coastal Athletic Conference's Rookie of the Week. This is the first weekly honor of her career.
Hoppe tossed her first career no-hitter, helping Drexel to a pair of midweek victories against Lafayette. On Tuesday, the freshman right-hander threw 2.0 scoreless innings in the first game of a doubleheader against the Leopards to collect her first career save. In the second game, the Bordentown, N.J. native tossed the program's 22nd no-hitter, going the distance, allowing just two walks and one unearned. Hoppe was 1-1 in the circle for the week with a save, posting a 2.33 ERA in 15.0 innings.
Drexel travels across Philadelphia to visit the Saint Joseph's Hawks on Wednesday, April 3. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
