Schmidt and Team USA Set Best American Finish at World Championships

ST. CATHARINES, Ontario - James Schmidt of Drexel men's rowing finished third in the B Final with the United States in the Men's Quadruple Sculls (BM4x) at the Under 23 World Championships in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada Friday morning.
The boat of Schmidt, Harry Hall, Dylan Green and Charles Jones came home with a time of 5:50.65, placing ninth overall. This was the best finish for a USA U23 4x team since 2011.
In their heat race on Sunday, the crew set an American U23 quadruple record, crossing the line in 5:48.45.
Head coach Matt Weaver will coach the Senior Men's Lightweight 4x in the A Final on Saturday, August 24 at 3:49 p.m.
