Aliberch's Goal Not Enough; Drexel Falls to UNCW, 2-1

WILMINGTON, N.C. – A goal by Carles Aliberch in the 86th minute was not enough to secure Drexel a conference point in Wilmington, N.C., falling to Seahawks, 2-1.
UNCW scored its first goal in the 27th minute, capitalizing on a second chance shot. The goal was the only action in the first half as both teams played top-notch defense.
In the second half, scored the eventual game-winning-goal in the 53rd minute. A corner by the Seahawks bounced around in the penalty box was cleaned up by Josef Hefele.
In the waning moments of the game, Drexel continued to attack the UNCW defensive unit. Aliberch found an opening and halved the Drexel deficit.
Drexel held the advantage in shots, pacing the Seahawks, 9-7. The Dragons also took the most shots on target, 4-3.
The Dragons close out the first month of play with a 4-4 record and a 1-2 tab in conference play. Drexel returns to action on October 1 against UMBC. Action from Baltimore is set for 7 p.m.
