Three Dragons Named to CAA Preseason Men’s Lacrosse Team

Philadelphia, Pa. – Drexel's Liam Kammar, Gavin Kelly and Max Semple were named to the 2025 Coastal Association's Preseason Team. In addition, the Dragons were picked fourth by a vote of the league's coaches and Collin Gucwa was an Honorable Mention selection.
Kammar, a senior from Timonium, Md., is entering his second season as one of the team's captains. He was one of the top short stick defenders in the CAA last season. The senior has appeared in every game over the last two seasons and finished ninth in the CAA with 3.13 ground balls per game last season.
Kelly, a sophomore midfielder from Huntingtown, Md., was a First Team All-CAA selection a year ago. It was the first time a Drexel freshman had ever been named to the first team. Kelly led the Dragons with 16 assists and ended the year with 30 points. He ranked 10th in the CAA in assists per game as a rookie.
Semple, a senior attackman from Coquitlam, B.C., finished the 2024 season seventh in the CAA in goals per game with 2.07. He led the Dragons with 31 goals and tied for the team lead with 32 points. Semple recorded five hat tricks last year and begins his final year with 88 career goals and 99 career points.
Collin Gucwa was named an Honorable Mention All-CAA pick. Gucwa, a senior defenseman, was a Second Team All-CAA selection a year ago.
Towson was picked to win the 2025 CAA Championship. Delaware was picked to finish second, ahead of Fairfield and Drexel. Stony Brook was picked to finish fifth, followed by Hofstra, Monmouth and Hampton.
The Dragons begin the 2025 season on Feb. 15 when they host UMBC.
