Drexel to Begin 2025 Season at Runnin’ Bulldog Classic on Friday

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel softball team is set to begin its 2025 campaign in Boiling Springs, N.C. on Friday morning at the Runnin' Bulldog Classic, hosted by Gardner-Webb.
The Dragons are slated to play a doubleheader on Friday against West Georgia and Howard at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The Dragons return to Brinkley Softball Stadium on Saturday to play the Bison once more at 12:30 p.m. then play the hosts at 5:30 on Saturday evening. The Dragons wrap up their first weekend in North Carolina on Sunday with a game against the Bulldogs at 11 a.m.
The Dragons play in two more spring tournaments before returning home to Philadelphia for conference play. On February 14, Drexel travels to Chapel Hill to play in the UNC Tournament, which includes the Tar Heels, Princeton and George Mason. On Friday, February 28, Drexel travels to Lynchburg, Va. to play in the Liberty Invitational. DU will play the Flames, Georgetown, Appalachian State and Lehigh.
Drexel returns to Philadelphia on Friday, March 7 to open conference play against Delaware. The Dragons and Blue Hens will play a game on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all at 3 p.m.
Drexel returns a majority of its starting lineup from the 2024 roster including Izzy Alamillo, who will continue to play in center for the Dragons. Mia Garza returns to the hot corner while Lily Meuninck will continue to play first base for the Dragons.
