Drexel Drops Midweek Matchup at Lehigh, 4-3

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Drexel softball fell to Lehigh, 4-3, on Wednesday, as a late push in the seventh inning came up short. The Dragons moved to 13-12 on the season.
How It Happened
Lehigh scored all four of its runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. A double to center field brought in two runs to open the scoring. Later in the inning, a stolen base and a steal of home added another run to make it 3-0. Lehigh added its fourth run when a single to third base allowed a runner to score, aided by a throwing error.
Drexel broke through in the top of the seventh inning. Natalie Alldred and Ariana Castillo reached base before Macie Bergmann homered to left field, driving in three runs to cut the deficit to 4-3. Drexel was unable to complete the comeback.

Macie Bergmann went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.
Natalie Alldred and Ariana Castillo each scored a run.
Drexel finished with eight hits in the game.
