Dragons Host UNCW on Sunday

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel women's basketball team returns to the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Sunday, February 9 to host the UNCW Seahawks at 1 p.m.
About Sunday's Contest
Drexel Athletics is set to honor 2025 Hall of Fame inductee, Gabriela Marginean during its women's basketball game on Sunday, February 9 at 1 p.m.
Sunday's game is also the teams' annual Girls & Women in Sports Day, where all youth girls (ages 12 and younger) receive free admission into the game. Drexel is also offering an Eagles Gameday Ticket Special on Sunday. All fans wearing green who buy a ticket at the ticket booth on game day will receive a 50% discount on tickets. After the game, fans can join the Drexel women's basketball team for a postgame autograph session.
Last Time Out
The Drexel women's basketball team was defeated by the Monmouth Hawks, 50-47, on Friday night in West Long Branch, N.J. The Hawks took the lead on a 9-0 run with 2:42 remaining to erase a six-point Drexel lead.
Amaris Baker scored 20 points and corralled four rebounds in the effort. The senior converted on nine field goals and found the bottom of the basket twice from beyond the arc.
Chloe Hodges finished with eight points, six rebounds and five steals.
Scouting UNCW
UNCW enters Sunday's game with a 12-11 record and a 6-4 record in CAA play. The Seahawks are led by Ali Zelaya, who averages 11.9 points, and Taylor Henderson, who also averages around 11 points per game.
The last time the Seahawks have had a 12-win season was in the 2018-2019 season, where the team won 18 games.
UNCW is coached by Nicole Woods, who is in her second season with the Seahawks.

Brooke Mullin scored a game-high 16 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished four assists. The graduate student succeeded from long range, sinking four of five tries.
Amaris Baker followed Mullin in the scoring column on 7-for-15 shooting for 14 points and grabbed six boards. Erin Sweeney tied a career-high with eight points.
Drexel's defense was in top form, holding the Seahawks to just 15-for-51 from the field and 0-for-8 from deep. The Dragons also forced 19 turnovers in the game and only coughed up the ball nine times on the other end of the court.
