PHILADELPHIA – Vice President, Director of Athletics Maisha Kelly has announced that Katie Jansson will not return as the head coach of the Drexel softball program. Jansson has been the Dragons' coach since the 2022 season.
"Following this season, it was determined that a change was necessary to regain competitiveness within our conference. The path forward requires a new approach and vision," said Kelly. "I would like to thank Katie for her professionalism and leadership over the last four years and wish her the best."
Jansson was 56-131 in her four seasons in West Philadelphia and had a 25-70 record in Coastal Athletic Association play.
A national search for her replacement will begin immediately.
