PHILADELPHIA (Sep. 4, 2025) – Drexel Athletics and Learfield, the media and technology company powering college athletics, have announced a 10-year renewal to their long-term partnership that dates back to 2015. Through the renewal, Learfield's Dragons Sports Properties (DSP) will continue to serve as the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Drexel Athletics and Drexel University Recreation, delivering incremental revenue generation and fan engagement opportunities for the Dragons.
"Learfield has served as a trusted partner and team member of Drexel Athletics for the past 10 years," said Maisha Kelly, Vice President, Director of Athletics & Recreation at Drexel. "We are excited to continue collaborating on business opportunities for the department, alongside local, regional, and national brands. We also appreciate Learfield's evolution in the industry as they identify new platforms to support the department's portfolio and growth, as well as marketplace engagement for student-athletes. As the landscape of collegiate athletics continues to evolve, we're fortunate to have an industry leader as a long-term partner."
In a highly competitive Philadelphia market that features five other Division I institutions and four major professional sports franchises, Dragons Sports Properties has leveraged Learfield's full toolkit of resources to drive innovative and strategic partnerships and align core values to create authentic relationships.
DSP's efforts have resulted in a 49% increase in overall sponsorship revenue over the past five years, highlighted by keystone partnerships with prominent brands nationally with State Farm and regionally with Independence Blue Cross and Rothman Orthopedics.
"Maisha and the Drexel Athletics team have embraced Learfield's ability to create an integrated approach to strategic revenue generation in an exciting new era of college athletics," said Meghan Heinchon, Learfield Executive Vice President of Sports Properties. "Her leadership and success in a crowded sports market are a true testament to the bright future of Drexel Athletics."
Drexel Athletics and Dragons Sports Properties have prioritized digital sponsorship offerings for additional revenue growth in recent years, enacting a focused approach on efficiency and constructing partnerships that deliver 365 touchpoints to the Drexel fanbase to increase digital revenue significantly over the past three years.
Through its partnership with Drexel Athletics, Dragons Sports Properties also holds exclusive multimedia rights over all Drexel University Recreation assets, now including potential naming rights agreements for the Drexel Recreation Center.
In addition to its relationship with the flagship multimedia rights division, Drexel Athletics continues to leverage Learfield's enterprise-wide solutions to unlock additional revenue generation and fan engagement opportunities through licensed merchandise agency CLC and digital platform provider SIDEARM Sports.
