Evans Named Women’s Big 5 Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA – Deja Evans of the Women's Basketball was named the Women's Big 5 Player of the Week after helping Drexel capture its first conference victory of the season on Sunday.
The junior turned in the second consecutive 20-point performance on Sunday afternoon at the Daskalakis Athletic Center to help lift Drexel over Hofstra 67-38. The Conshohocken, Pa. native shot an impressive 17-for-26 across Drexel's 1-1 week and grabbed 15 boards. Sunday's 20-point game was Evan's fifth time in her career scoring 20 or more points.
Evans and the Dragons head south for Charleston and UNCW on January 16 and the 18th. Drexel opens the weekend of play in South Carolina against the Cougars at 7 p.m., then will travel to Wilmington on Sunday to face the Seahawks at 1 p.m. Both games can be seen on FloCollege.
