This past weekend, Drexel Athletics served as the hub of multiple significant Homecoming events and activities, highlighted by the induction of Malik Rose 96' and Coach Bill Herrion into the Drexel Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, January 24th.
Homecoming weekend serves as a pillar of experience for our campus community and provides an opportunity to welcome home Dragons.
Our Women's basketball program was able to capture two victories against conference opponents Stony Brook and Towson as we served as host to more than 25 program alumna across the weekend.
Men's Basketball secured a Homecoming victory over Northeastern in front of a crowd of more than 2,000 people. Malik Rose, Coach Bill Herrion, and more than 15 members of the 1994-96 NCAA Tournament teams were recognized on the court as part of a celebration of champions. Athletics once again served as the conduit to crown our Homecoming court in front of an engaged audience and student section.
Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving tallied victories over conference rival Towson on Saturday morning. Meghan Ehrnfeldt set a new pool record in the 100 Fly while Sophomore standout Brittany Corbett rewrote the record books in the 1,000 Freestyle. Our tennis programs also competed against fellow Big 5 member Saint Joseph's, with our Women's Program notching a 5-2 win.
The energy across the weekend was palpable and obvious to those who attended. We look forward to continuing this momentum as the year unfolds.
