Dragons to Continue Homestand Thursday Against Hampton

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's basketball team will continue their three game homestand against the Hampton Pirates on Thursday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker's Local 98 is once again the presenting sponsor of Drexel Men's Basketball.
LAST TIME OUT
The Dragons defeated the Northeastern Huskies Saturday, 83-78, at home. Josh Reed led the team with a career-high 22 points. Reed shot 75% from the field, along with rebounding the ball twice, handing out two assists and stealing the ball once. 20 of his 22 points came in the second half. Shane Blakeny had 14 points to go with four rebounds, four assists and a steal. He also tied his career high with three blocks. Garfield Turner had 12 points on the night. He also pulled in five rebounds while having an assist and a block. Drexel's bench outscored Northeastern's 43-17 and outblocked the Huskies 5-3.
ABOUT HAMPTON
The Pirates are 10-11 (4-4 in conference play) after falling to UNCW on Saturday. They are led by second-year head coach Ivan Thomas. Senior Eley Michael leads the team with 12.7 points per game.
THE SERIES
This is the sixth time that the two teams have played. Drexel leads the series 3-2 after winning last year's matchup 53-52 at home.
