Dragons to Travel to West Long Branch to Begin Road Trip

PHILADELPHIA - Drexel women's basketball travels to West Long Branch, N.J. on Friday, January 30, to face the Monmouth Hawks at 7 p.m. Then, on Sunday, the Dragons play the Northeastern Huskies in Boston, Mass. at 1 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Drexel women's basketball team defeated the Towson Tigers handedly, 68-45, on Saturday night inside the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Dragons, grabbed 48 rebounds, which is a team-high against Division I opponents this season, and outscored Towson 33-21 in the second half to earn its fourth conference victory of the season.
Towson, who entered the game second in the conference in points per game, was held to its second-lowest point total of the season.
The Dragons defense also held Towson to just 26.2 percent from the field on 16-for-61 shooting and just 5-for-24 from deep. Offensively, Drexel was on par for its shooting percentage, finishing .4% higher at 41.8%.
Molly Rullo finished with 16 points, and a career-high five free throws. The freshman shot 5-for-10 from the field and also grabbed four rebounds and three assists.
Laine McGurk grabbed nine rebounds in Saturday's effort, topping her previous career-high of six, which was set against Stony Brook on Friday, January 23, 2026.
It is the largest victory against Towson since the team was victorious in 2019, 77-44.

Friday's matchup will be the 14th between the two teams. Currently, Drexel owns a 8-5 advantage against the Hawks, but the two teams are locked at a stalemate when playing at West Long Branch, each winning three games.
Last Time Against Monmouth
Drexel corralled 48 rebounds, which sets a program record in the CAA tournament. Drexel grabbed 40 rebounds three times in the CAA Tournament, most recently against Charleston in the 2022 tournament. The Dragons also broke the team's offensive rebound mark, pacing the previous record of 15, set against Delaware in 2018, by 10 rebounds.
McCormack scored 21 of her 26 points in the second half, shooting 7-for-13 and 4-for-7 from deep. The graduate student also went 3-for-4 from the charity stripe.
Amaris Baker and Deja Evans ended the game with 10 points on Friday afternoon. Each made five field goals, and both were active on the boards. Baker grabbed seven offensive rebounds and added two defensive rebounds to post a season-high nine rebounds. Evans grabbed seven rebounds and blocked four shots in the effort.
Evans' four blocked shots moved the sophomore to seventh in the program's career blocked shots list.
