PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's basketball team is set to host the Monmouth Hawks on Thursday at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker's Local 98 is once again the presenting sponsor of Drexel Men's Basketball. Thursday's game is also sponsored by Pepsi.
LAST TIME OUT
The Dragons concluded their two-game road trip with an 82-77 win over the Elon Phoenix on Saturday. Eli Beard led the team with 16 points. Beard shot 85.7% on the afternoon and had three assists. Shane Blakeney and Victor Panov both had 15 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal. Garfield Turner tied a career-high in points (14) and set a career-high in rebounds (12). Drexel won the turnover battle 10-6 and held Elon to 40.7% shooting. The Dragon's bench outscored Elon 26-3 and capitalized on opportunities, outscoring the Phoenix 17-10 on points off opponent turnovers.

Monmouth is 12-12 (6-5 in conference play) after defeating Stony Brook, 76-75, on Thursday. King Rice leads the Hawks in his 14th season as head coach. Junior Jason Rivera-Torres leads the team with 16 points per game.

This is the second time that the two teams will play each other this season. Drexel is 14-6 all-time after defeating the Hawks last month, 73-51.
