Dragons Set for Senior Day at DAC on Sunday Against North Carolina A&T

PHILADELPHIA - Drexel is set to wrap up its home slate on Sunday, March 1 against the North Carolina A&T Aggies. Prior to the game, the Dragons will recognize the graduating seniors: Grace O'Neill, Amaris Baker and Jalyn McNeill. Action from the DAC is slated for 2 p.m. on FloCollege.
Last Time Out
The Drexel women's basketball team defeated the Northeastern Huskies, 72-61, on Friday night at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Dragons used a 25-point third quarter to take 14-point lead into the fourth quarter.
Grace O'Neill finished the game with five points, six rebounds and six assists. With her six helpers, O'Neill tied Keishana Washington on the program's assists leaders list with 368.
Laine McGurk ended the game with 26 points to lead the Dragons in scoring. It is her highest scoring performance inside the DAC and second highest in her career.
Amaris Baker finished he game with 12 points with three rebounds and three assists.
All-Time Series
This is fifth time that the Dragons and Aggies are meeting and the third time that the teams are playing at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The last time the two teams met at the DAC, in 2024, the Aggies defeated the Dragons, 54-47. A year before that, the series opened in Philadelphia and the Aggies were victorious, 59-57.
Last Time Against North Carolina A&T
Despite a 30-point performance by Amaris Baker, the Drexel women's basketball team could not hold off the North Carolina A&T Aggies on Friday night in Greensboro, N.C., 64-57. DU improved to 6-3 in conference play and 13-7 overall.
Baker scored a career-high 33 points in a 40 minute performance. The senior shot 13-for-24 and was successful from long range on five tries. Baker also grabbed four rebounds.
Cara McCormack scored the 1000th point of her career in the closing minutes of the game. The graduate student finished with six points with three rebounds and three assists.
Looking Ahead
Drexel plays its final weekend series of the regular season beginning on Thursday, March 5. Drexel travels to Hofstra to face the Pride at 6 p.m. then takes a trip to Towson, Md. on Saturday, March 7 to play the Tigers to close the regular season at 2 p.m. Both games will air on FloCollege.
