Dragons Complete Series at Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Drexel softball fell to Hofstra, 9-5, on Sunday, moving to 13-15 overall and 3-6 in CAA play.
How It Happened
Drexel struck first in the top of the first inning. Olivia Sciulli and Kylah Reading scored on a Jackie Masone double down the left field line to give the Dragons a 2-0 lead.
Hofstra answered in the bottom half of the inning with nine runs. A single to left field brought in a run before a fielder's choice tied the game. A run scored on a wild pitch to give Hofstra the lead. A double to right center drove in two runs, followed by a single to left field that added another. The inning was capped by a three-run home run to extend the lead to 9-2.
Drexel responded in the top of the second inning. Quinn Cunnigham and Olivia Sciulli scored when Kylah Reading homered to left field, driving in three runs to cut the deficit to 9-5.
The Dragons were unable to add to their total over the remaining innings.
By the Numbers
Olivia Sciulli went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
Kylah Reading hit a home run and finished with three RBI.
Jackie Masone recorded a double and two RBI.
Quinn Cunnigham scored a run and added a hit.
