Dragons Open Last Weekend of CAA Play in Regular Season at Hofstra on Thursday

PHILADELPHIA - Drexel is set to play its final weekend of CAA regular season games on Thursday and Saturday. Drexel opens the weekend with a trip to Hempstead, N.Y. to face the Hofstra Pride at 6 p.m. Then on Saturday, the Dragons travel down I95 to face the Towson Tigers. Tip against the Tigers is set for 2 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Drexel women's basketball team erased another 14-point deficit on Sunday afternoon to defeat the North Carolina A&T Aggies, 65-63, in overtime at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Dragons entered the final quarter of play trailing by 10 points. Drexel improved to 19-8 overall and is now 11-4 in conference play. Drexel has now won 11 of its last 12 games.
With two games left to play in the regular season, Drexel is tied for second in the conference standings with Stony Brook.
Prior to the game, Drexel celebrated its seniors for their dedication and efforts given to the program. Among those celebrated were Jalyn McNeill, Amaris Baker and Grace O'Neill.
Baker paced the Dragons in scoring, chipping in 25 points and making nine shots from the free throw line, which is a career-high. Baker also had five rebounds and three assists in the effort.
Laine McGurk finished the game with 18 points, six rebounds, two assists and three steals. Of the 18 points, McGurk scored 14 in the second half of play.
Deja Evans turned in a 10-point performance with eight rebounds in Sunday's contest.
Drexel finished the regular season with an 11-3 home record.

The Dragons and Pride meet for the 84th time on Thursday evening. The Dragons currently have a 52-31 record against the Pride. However on the road, Drexel has an 18-20 record, dropping their most recent clash in Hempstead during the 2024-25 season. Earlier this season, Drexel handed Hofstra a 67-38 loss at the DAC. The first meeting was on Saturday, January 15, 1983.

Deja Evans finished with her second straight 20-point performance, shooting 8-for-10 and going 4-for-6 from the charity stripe.
Amaris Baker added 14 points to the stat sheet. Baker was perfect from the line, finishing 4-for-4.
All active players for Drexel found the bottom of the bucket in Sunday's matchup. Emilee Jones finished with five points, tying a career-high. The sophomore also played for a career-high 17 minutes and grabbed five rebounds, also a career-high.
Sunday's 29-point victory was the largest NET point victory at home during conference play since the Dragons defeated UNCW, 72-39 in 2022.
Hofstra's 38 points is tied for the seventh lowest point total at home in conference play in program history.
